Reading Notes: Bengal: A Ghostly Wife

I find that ghost stories are suspenseful and very interesting to read. Although watching movies with ghosts are way scarier, I enjoy reading the stories as well. It gives the readers more courage to find out what is about to happen and keeps them on their feet. I also try to picture it in my head as I read along so it’s quite interesting. The story “A Ghostly Wife” has a lot of great details in this story that I like. I think it would be more interesting to tell this story in the ghost’s point of view. I feel like showing why the ghost is doing something is more interesting. I don't think I would change the gender of the ghost though. I like female ghosts more and I feel like they are more scary. We depict ghosts as evil beings, but there is always a reason behind that. I could add that she died in a tragic accident, which leads to her being evil because she didn't want to die. Or, she wanted to seek revenge. On the other hand, I think it will be very interesting to also change the ghost character to being someone extremely nice. There are many things I could change. Ghosts are never given a chance to tell their side of the story so it would be fun to do so.
