Tech Tip: Canvas Notifications
I really like how you can change the notification preferences on Canvas. It is very helpful and convenient. I changed it to things that were more important to me. I usually get notifications for things that are not as important so one bad thing that I do is just skip over all of them and not pay close attention to the important ones. I have missed important notifications/emails by doing that. I really like how canvas emails me right away when there are changes to grades, announcements, etc. It is really helpful and I think this is one of the reasons why it is better than D2L.

Reading Notes: Maya's Dream
I really like the happiness of this story. The story gives off a positive vibe from the beginning to end. I could add more descriptions about Queen Maya’s personality and character since the story doesn’t really talk about who she is. In the story, it also talks about how her husband, King Suddhodana, gives food to the hungry and gave back to the poor. I can also expand more on his character. I really like the idea of Maya having a happy dream that meant something. In a lot of cultures, they believe that certain dreams have meaning whether it is a good or bad sign. Maya's dream makes her happy and more giving. She gives birth to Buddha. Buddha teaches people happiness and to avoid suffering.

Reading Notes: The Three Goslings
(Piglet: Pixabay)
After I read this story, I immediately thought of the three
little pigs. I like how in this story they were suppose to just build one house
but then each of them became greedy and wanted to live alone except for one of
them. I could write this story and focus more on each of the characters. I was
really surprised when I read this story and the first and second gosling wanted
to live alone. It seemed like they were close in the beginning of the story.
Talking more about each of their personalities will make this a little bit more
fun and interesting.

Reading Notes: Water and Salt
Water and salt are essential things we need in life.
Although they are not special, pretty, or worth a lot, we still use them every
day. In this story, the father asks his three daughters how much they love him
and one replied with, “I love you as much as water and salt.” He was not happy
with it and demanded her dead. I liked how the sisters helped send her away and
killed a dog in her place. At the end, the daughter ends up marrying a King’s
son and invites her father to the wedding. They gave everyone salt and water
except for her father. As they were eating, he did not enjoy his meal at all
and could not eat. She finally told him who she was and he felt terrible. I really like the message that this story
sends. We sometimes forget how important small things in life are. I think we
should be more grateful for the small things because they usually mean the
most! I could write a story about two teenagers that worked really hard for
their money and when they finally get money, one took advantage of it and spent
it carelessly. At the end, he regrets his decisions and is unhappy. I want to
keep the same lesson that is learned in my story.
